New Victoria Hospital has a long-standing commitment to its charitable values, rooted in its history. Established in 1898, it gained Charity Status in 1954, initially treating most patients free of charge. Over time, as the hospital grew, it was acquired by our current parent charity, The New Victoria Foundation (TVF). TVF’s broad but medically focused charitable aims help transform the lives of many in the local community and beyond through its various projects.

Operationally this means:

• We undertake pro-bono work for those in need, including our recently launched Community Champion Initiative where we are giving away £125,000 worth of free medical treatment.
• We support our people with paid volunteer leave to enable them to volunteer for causes that they are passionate about.
• We support our local communities with outreach.
• Through our parent Charity fund medical equipment for those who are in need and support the NHS Doctors of the future with bursaries and grants.

• Where possible locally sourcing local produce for our Hospital restaurant including growing our own herbs, fruits and vegetables from the Hospital garden.
